Hello my name is Julia and I am an experienced counsellor, registered and accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I work within their Ethical Framework for Good Practice at all times. I have also undertaken additional training in Mental Health, Couples and Relationship Counselling, Trauma and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. I regularly attend courses and workshops to ensure my skills and knowledge remain up to date.
After working with charitable organisations and clients referred from NHS programmes, I now run my own Private Practice where I provide counselling for clients struggling with distressing situations often resulting from difficult life events, relationships and circumstances. I also attend Critical Incidents when required and assist clients who have been affected by these. In addition I am also affiliated to a number of Employee Assistance Programmes and work with their clients covering a wide variety of issues which are causing problems in their personal lives and within the workplace.
My background is in the Finance Industry where I worked for many years whilst raising my family. Much of this time was spent in debt counselling and working with customers experiencing financial problems, often resulting from major life events such as divorce, bereavement, illness & redundancy. The skills, knowledge and life experiences I acquired have been hugely beneficial in my counselling practice.
Having been born into a family of twins including being the mother of twins myself, I possess a unusual insight into this unique and special relationship and the difficulties it can present. I am happy to work with anyone involved in any way with such a relationship.
